Study on Parental Shame

A research team from Université Laval is conducting a study aimed at creating and validating a questionnaire designed to assess parental shame. The study also seeks to explore how different sources and types of parent-shaming (critical comments about parenting), along with parents’ personal characteristics, relate to feelings of shame.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Adults aged 18 years and older
  • Have at least one dependent child
  • Fluent in English

Your Involvement

Participants will be asked to complete a series of online questionnaires, including:

  • A sociodemographic questionnaire
  • The newly developed parental shame questionnaire
  • Additional measures assessing shame, depression, self-esteem, and parent-shaming experiences

This is a one-time, online participation that takes approximately 25 minutes.

Compensation

Five participants will be selected at random to receive a $50 gift card.
